Campus Security Update

Student safety is our top priority

At Christ Academy, our mission to produce academically well-prepared students who model the character of Jesus Christ cannot be accomplished if our students and faculty are not, first and foremost, in a safe environment. While we have always been commended by families on how safe CA is, as well as received good reviews from local first responders to our Emergency Operating Plans (EOP), we are always evaluating our standards and updating them as needed.

This summer, an organization called the i love you guys Foundation was brought to our attention for their well-known crisis-response and post-crisis reunification programs. Their programs are supplemental to existing Emergency Operating Plans and give simple, easy-to-follow actions in times of crisis. Many schools, local law enforcement, and first responders have began adopting their programs, making it a new standard way to communicate, giving schools, parents, students, and first responders a common language in times of an emergency.

Christ Academy has adopted this new Standard Response Protocol (SRP) as a supplement to our Emergency Operating Plan. All teachers and staff have been trained on this SPR and will begin educating the students on the symbols and meanings soon, as well. We believe this information is clear, easy to understand, and actually has the potential to lower student anxiety with the broader scope of terms.

To protect our students and staff, we will not announce every security update we are making. However, we occasionally identify and improve areas as needed. Our EOP is updated monthly. If you would like to know more specifics to our EOP, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. Callaway.
